We offer atraumatic techniques dental treatment at Children’s Dentistry Castle Hill. Prof Graham Craig (AM, MSD. PhD, FRACDS), former Assoc. Prof Faculty of Dentistry USyd, pioneered these techniques. The aim is to develop confidence and cooperation in young patients so treatment can be performed in the dental chair. We have happy dental patients because the need for general anaesthetic and premedication is avoided. Prevention and use of minimal intervention are the focus of treatment.
Atraumatic dentistry, especially the use for Silver Fluoride, has recently gained a lot of interest in the US and Europe. The rest of the world is catching on to what we have been doing for 30 years.
Dental anxiety and children with special needs
We are well experienced with providing dental care for children with a range of special needs. These may include dental anxiety/phobia or physical, developmental, genetic, motor or sensory impairments. Our atraumatic techniques are designed to develop a child’s confidence with dental treatment by breaking appointments down into achievable steps.
We have a trusted team of specialists we collaborate with if complex treatment is necessary. All work hand in hand to achieve the best outcomes for your child.
